2018 Golden Sunflower Cup National Children's Piano Competition

The preliminary round (Shanghai region) has come to a successful conclusion!

After hot registration in the early stage, the number of participants in this competition is the highest in the history of the Shanghai division. China Merchants Bank has specially invited professional institutions to oversee the competition. The judging panel, led by Associate Professor Shi Jiehan and Director of the Piano Fundamentals Department at Shanghai Conservatory of Music Affiliated Middle School, is strong and consists of professors or senior piano educators from the Conservatory of Music.

Contestants are selected based on their age, divided into groups A and B for children, and groups A and B for teenagers. From their attire and makeup, it can be seen that the young contestants have made careful preparations beforehand. Rhythm flows, the sound of the qin is melodious, and the contestants perform steadily. Their skilled and graceful finger techniques, as well as elegant and moving melodies, immerse the live audience in the world of music.

The top players from each group in the Shanghai competition area will advance to the national finals, where nearly 200 piano players from across the country will engage in exciting peak competitions. The winners will receive the "Golden Sunflower" trophy, certificate, and prize money, and will also have the opportunity to listen to the wonderful speech of the internationally renowned pianist Li Yundi's "Master Class".
